Video Vault

This just popped up on TV; Scarlet Fantastic's 'No Memory'.

Imagine the fright we got when we remembered this first came out in October 1987, making it 20 years old.

We're off for a little cry now.

Super Furry Animals - Runaway

Seriously, what's not to love about this video? If you don't adore it, you must be doing something wrong. Just look what it give you;
- It's by the Super Furry Animals, one of our favourite bands ever
- It's the second single to come from their new album 'Hey Venus', a truly wonderful recording
- The song is an epic Wall-of-Sound production which still manages to include the phrase 'Banking details'
- The video stars Matt Berry, last seen playing the barking boss in the IT Crowd, and is directed by Richard Ayoade, last seen playing the lovely Moss in the IT Crowd. It could've used a few more flammable brassieres and bicycle jousts in our opinion, but they clearly thought otherwise. Their choice...
- You can get all sorts of aces Super Furry Animals stuff at RunForYourLives.co.uk, the site we occasionally run when we're not looking for pop videos.
- You can also get some Super Flying Animals, if that's more your thing.

Your Friday Afternoon Doss

We love this game. Fire your cannon at the falling rocks and passing dragon, then catch the gold balls for extra energy. Like last week's Spot the Difference game, this is strangely relaxing.

Maybe we're getting old.

We'd Like to Take a Minute, Just Sit Right There

We're working on something TOP SECRET at the moment, which will be appearing on the site shortly (so, you know, 'TOP SECRET' in the 'SHORTLY AVAILABLE TO EVERY MAN AND HIS DOG' sense). No clues just yet, but we can tell you
a) It's to do with Christmas,
b) It will save you a lot of money and stress during the aforementioned festive period, and
c) It's about 47 times more interesting than a supermarket 'Savings Club' scheme, although you don't get a free pound at the end of it.

Anyhow, whilst putting this TOP SECRET project together, we were searching for pictures and clips on the web when we came across this; Probably our favourite TV running joke ever. Seriously, we laughed like skips every time this happened.

We'd love to know what Carlton's doing these days.

Diff'rent Folks

We've just stumbled across the most addictive game we've played in ages; 5 Differences.

If you've had enough of heart-thumping racing/fighting/shooting games, 5 Differences is the cool beer under a tree that you've been waiting for. It's the classic spot-the-difference, with some groovy slightly-moving pictures to pore over. No time-limits, no hazards, no annoying soundtracks, just a pair of pictures with eight differences.

FIVE differences. Not eight. Five.

Go on, give it a try. You'll come out of it feeling like you've spent a relaxing few minutes in one of those flotation-tank things (not that we've ever tried them; We heard that the water turns purple if you have an accident).

The Hard Shell

Sorry we haven't been around to post thrilling blog installments this week; We've been busy lying awake in cold sweats, unable to erase this image from our minds...

Did this ever go out on British TV? We have vague recollections of it, although we may be confusing it with a harrowing meeting with a scary distant half-uncle at a wedding.

By the way, did you notice how they didn't include the rubbish jigsaw in the shot of the toys? Opening a Kinder Egg and finding a jigsaw inside was a valuable childhood lesson in dealing with disappointment.

Ghostwatch

We love a good ghost clip, but this one truly chilled us. See what you think. Warning: May not be suitable for those of a nervous disposition.
